Virtual reality is here to stay and everyone wants to take advantage, last year Samsung announced the Gear VR, glasses to view content in virtual reality, and this year it goes one step further with the device that will allow us to create the virtual reality, the Samsung Gear 360 camera.
Samsung Gear 360 features
The Samsung Gear 360 is a camera designed to create content in virtual reality, that is, it allows us to create videos and photographs so that we can later view them with the virtual reality device, for example the Samsung Gear VR. It is a camera composed of two fisheye lenses and a resolution of 15 megapixels, when using the two lenses we can record content in 360 degrees and if we use only one of the lenses we can record in 180 degrees. The Samsung Gear 360 has IP53 protection to resist dust and splashes.
The Samsung Gear 360 works with an included 1, 350 mAh battery and is accompanied by a tripod to increase its possibilities of use, thanks to its flat base it can also be used without the need of a tripod if the user so wishes. Its compatibility is very reduced and for now we can only use it with some of the Samsung devices: Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy Note 5.
The Samsung Gear 360 will be released in the second quarter of 2016 at a price still unknown.
