Finally we have the first official images of the Sapphire Radeon RX 480 NITRO that includes a lighting system to follow the latest fashion. Most importantly, the card includes an 8-pin power connector to fix the reference model problem.
It also logically has a much more advanced heatsink than the AMD reference that will undoubtedly help maintain lower temperatures and higher levels of overclocking to further improve its already excellent performance.
The Radeon RX 480 marks the debut of AMD Polaris (GCN 4.0) at 14nm Fin-FET from Global Foundries with a greatly reduced die size of just 232mm2. This new card consists of a total of 36 Compute Units (CU) totaling 2, 304 stream processors, 144 TMUs and 32 ROPs at a maximum frequency on the reference card of 1, 266 MHz.
The AMD Radeon RX 480 uses 8, 000 MHz GDDR5 memory with a 256-bit interface and 256 GB / s bandwidth for excellent performance thanks to the presence of AMD's Delta Color Compression technology that compresses colors to reduce bandwidth consumption.
