Sapphire quietly introduced a slightly rugged Radeon RX 550 graphics card that is based on "Polaris 21" silicon.

Sapphire RX 550 uses the silicon of the 'trimmed' RX 560

Simply named as Radeon RX 550 2GD5 / 4GD5 (model: 11268-16) . The peculiarity of this card is that it uses the silicon of the RX 560, only that, with some trimmed characteristics, such as the number of Computing Units (CU), which goes from 16 in the RX 560 to 10 CU in this personalized model. Thanks to this, the card has about 640 Stream Proccesors, which is higher than the 512 Stream Proccesors of the original RX 550 model, which gives it greater graphics performance.

Other important GPU specifications include the 40 TMUs, and it will be available in 2GB or 4GB models of 6.00GHz GDDR5 memory, over a 128-bit bandwidth memory interface (96GB / s bandwidth). memory band). The GPU operates at a frequency of 1071 MHz. Being a low-end graphics card, it only draws power from the PCIe slot.

Its display outputs include DVI, HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 respectively. Sapphire declined to disclose its price to us, but it shouldn't cost more than 110-120 euros once they hit stores in the next few weeks, knowing that the original RX 550 costs around 95 euros.
