Information about the nvidia gm200 chip is leaked

Anonim

A few days ago it was known that Nvidia could be planning to launch its GM200 chip under TSMC's 16nm process, however this process would come later than expected and the graphics giant could change strategy for its Big Maxwell chip.

There has been a leak of information about the Nvidia GM200 chip through the popular SiSoftware software, which reveals that it will come under a 28nm manufacturing process, like the rest of the graphics chips with Maxwell architecture.

The new Big Maxwell consists of a total of 24 SMMs totaling 3, 072 CUDA Cores, 192 TMUs and 96 ROPs operating at a frequency of 1.1 / 1.39 GHz in base and turbo mode respectively. Regarding the memory interface, it would have a 384-bit bus, so it could offer excellent performance under very high resolutions. The new chip is 551mm² in size being smaller than the Kepler-based GK 110 so there should be no problem manufacturing it with the 28nm process so we can think that Nvidia's intention to manufacture it in 16nm is just a mere rumor.

Recall that the Nvidia GM200 chip will bring to life the future GTX TITAN II and the GTX 980 Ti presumably. It appears that the TITAN II will arrive with a total of 12 GB of VRAM.
