The roadmap for intel core processors until 2021 is filtered

The latest roadmap for Intel Core processors has been leaked in detail for desktop and laptop series through 2021. The roadmap shows upcoming Intel 14nm and 10nm CPUs to be released in the coming years.

Desktop Intel Core processors will continue to use a 14nm node until 2022

The latest roadmap for desktop and laptop CPUs has been leaked, revealing something very interesting, there will be no 10nm chips for the desktop platform until 2022, 10nm will be present on those Ice Lake and Lakefield processors for laptops in 2019.

The authenticity of these roadmaps cannot be confirmed, but they are referenced to Intel's SIP program and DELL, so they may have some legitimacy.

Roadmap for desktop CPUs

Starting with the desktop side, we are talking about the S and Xeon E series family. The S series product line uses Socket-H (LGA 115 *) and has multiple 35W / 65W / 95W CPUs. The lineup is currently comprised of 14nm ++ Coffee Lake-S Refresh chips that fall under the banner of the ninth generation.

It looks like Intel will stay at 14nm +++ for a while, as the roadmap reveals. In the second quarter of 2020, Intel will launch its Comet Lake-S processors, which include up to 10 cores. These would be followed by the Rocket Lake-S, which would also be based on an optimized 14nm process node. There will be no jump to 10nm until 2022, which is roughly the same time Intel is expected to launch its Ocean Cove architecture.

Laptop CPU Roadmap

On the side of laptops, the 10 nm if they arrived earlier. The high-end H / G series with 45W and 65W TDPs will make way for Comet Lake-H in the second quarter of 2020, with up to 8/10 cores at 14nm.

In the U series, which includes 28-15W processors, Intel will introduce its Ice Lake-U series dual and quad core processors for the first time. These will have limited production, while the actual production volume will be allocated to Comet Lake-U (14nm), which will have up to 6 cores. The Ice Lake-U series will launch on Computex dates, while the Comet Lake-U series would launch in the third quarter of 2019. We also have Rocket Lake-U, which will feature up to 6 cores (14nm) and also 14nm or 10nm graphics chips when it arrives in 2020.

Taking into account its veracity, we already know roughly what the next Intel releases will be. The only concern here is if Intel managed to stay competitive by using 14nm processors against AMD, which will make the leap to 7nm in a matter of months. We will keep you informed.
