Data is leaked on the gpus intel gen11 and gen12 (xe)
Table of contents:
A huge list of codenames for the next-gen Intel Xe GPUs Gen11 and Gen12 would have been leaked from a test controller posted on the Anandtech forums.
Data is leaking on Intel Gen11 and Gen12 GPUs
The list covers 14nm Gen 11-based Rocket Lake iGPUs and the famous next-generation Intel Xe that are known internally as Arctic Sound.
Intel itself has confirmed that its 10nm Xe GPU line will hit the video game segment in 2020, while a jump to 7nm is planned for 2021 with a more accurate version of the Xe architecture, which would use multi-technology. Stacking of Foveros and would be directed to AI / HPC platforms ”.
The four variants that have been leaked are called "iDG1" and "iDG2". The "DG" is probably the abbreviation for Discrete Graphics, while the designation "1" and "2" is the performance scale of the chip.
The four discrete GPUs also include LP and HP variants, where LP stands for low power and HP stands for high power or high end. What is interesting is that each discrete Xe graphics card is listed with its EU number or execution units. We can think of the EUs as the number of cores, similar to the number of CUDA cores from NVIDIA and the number of SP cores from AMD. Each core is built and designed differently, so unless we know more about Intel's Xe GPU, comparing the number of cores with NVIDIA and AMD would not be very accurate.

In this way, the EU numbers for Intel Xe graphics would range from 128, 256 to 512. Since the first Xe graphics cards are likely aimed at the general public, the EU count makes much more sense. Below are the variants mentioned in the drivers:
- iDG1LPDEV = "Intel (R) UHD Graphics, Gen12 LP DG1" "gfx-driver-ci-master-2624" iDG2HP512 = "Intel (R) UHD Graphics, Gen12 HP DG2" "gfx-driver-ci-master-2624" iDG2HP256 = “Intel (R) UHD Graphics, Gen12 HP DG2” “gfx-driver-ci-master-2624” iDG2HP128 = “Intel (R) UHD Graphics, Gen12 HP DG2” “gfx-driver-ci-master-2624”
You could also see references to the Tiger Lake CPUs and the iGPU Xe Gen12, which is what these CPUs will bring inside. We can't say for sure what the specific SKU would pack in terms of cores and clocks, but the variants are as follows:
- INTEL_DEV_9A49 = "Intel (R) UHD Graphics, Gen12 LP" "gfx-driver-ci-master-2624" INTEL_DEV_9A40 = "Intel (R) UHD Graphics, Gen12 LP" "gfx-driver-ci-master-2624" INTEL_DEV_9A59 = "Intel (R) UHD Graphics, Gen12 LP" "gfx-driver-ci-master-2624" INTEL_DEV_9A60 = "Intel (R) UHD Graphics, Gen12 LP" "gfx-driver-ci-master-2624" INTEL_DEV_9A68 = "Intel (R) UHD Graphics, Gen12 LP ”“ gfx-driver-ci-master-2624 ”INTEL_DEV_9A70 =“ Intel (R) UHD Graphics, Gen12 LP ”“ gfx-driver-ci-master-2624 ”INTEL_DEV_9A78 =“ Intel (R) UHD Graphics, Gen12 LP ”“ gfx-driver-ci-master-2624 ”INTEL_DEV_9A7F =“ Intel (R) UHD Graphics, Gen12 LP ”“ gfx-driver-ci-master-2624 ”
Rocket Lake CPUs are Comet Lake's successors arriving later this year and would feature Gen 11 graphics.
Gen 11 is the same GPU architecture that is used in Ice Lake processors. Currently, rumors suggest that we will not be able to see the launch of Ice Lake processors for desktops, but that Intel would offer consumers of Comet Lake-S PCs, which would be similar to Coffee Lake-Refresh processors, while the Rocket Lake-S CPUs would feature Gen 11 graphics and most likely an improved architecture.
These are referred to by these drivers:
- iRKLLPGT1H32 = "Intel (R) UHD Graphics, RKL" "gfx-driver-ci-master-2624" iRKLLPGT1HPro32 = "Intel (R) UHD Graphics, RKL" "gfx-driver-ci-master-2624" iRKLLPGT1S32 = "Intel (R) UHD Graphics, RKL ”“ gfx-driver-ci-master-2624 ”iRKLLPGT0P5S16 =“ Intel (R) UHD Graphics, RKL ”“ gfx-driver-ci-master-2624 ”iRKLLPGT1U32 =“ Intel (R) UHD Graphics, RKL ”“ gfx-driver-ci-master-2624 ”iRKLLPGT0P5U16 =“ UHD Graphics, RKL ”“ gfx-driver-ci-master-2624 ”iRKLLPGT0 =“ UHD Graphics, RKL ”“ gfx-driver-ci-master -2624 "
Rocket Lake processors with Gen 11 iGPUs will come in various configurations ranging from GT0, GT0.5 (16 EUs), and GT1 (32 EUs). We will keep you informed about all the information that comes up about the new Intel GPUs.
