The Intel Core Comet Lake-U series has been leaked with four models and their specifications. The Comet Lake architecture will replace Coffee Lake in the future and the first hints from various processors are beginning to come to light.

Comet Lake processors should arrive in the fourth quarter of the year.

The Comet Lake-U series is the one that will be used to bring to life CPUs for portable devices and mini-PCs.

Based on Intel's recent roadmap, Comet Lake processors should arrive in the fourth quarter of the year. CometLake-U (CML-U) will offer configurations of up to six cores, while CometLake-S (CML-S) and CometLake-H (CML-H) high-end offerings may have up to 10 cores. Unfortunately Comet Lake still uses Intel's 14nm node.

This leak also shows that Intel used the 10000 (Very Original) nomenclature for its next series. Intel has reached the point where it will start using five-digit numbers for its products in the future. Apparently, the Comet Lake pieces will be the first to be marketed under the new naming scheme.

Processor Cores / Threads Base Clock Boost Clock (1 core) Boost Clock (All Core Cores) TDP
Core i7 - 10710U 6/12 1.1 GHz 4.6 GHz 3.8 GHz 15W
Core i7-10510U 4/8 1.8 GHz 4.9 GHz 4.3 GHz 15W
Core i5-10210U 4/8 1.6 GHz 4.2 GHz 3.9 GHz 15W
Core i3-10110U 2/4 2.1 GHz 4.1 GHz 3.7 GHz 15W

Regardless of tier, Comet Lake-U processors come with Hyper-Threading (HT) support and a 15W TDP. The most powerful chip in this series for notebooks will be the 6-core, 12-core Core i7-10710U with a base frequency of 1.1 GHz and a Boost frequency of 4.6 GHz.

Manufacturers can combine the chips with DDR4 memory modules up to 2, 666 MHz or LPDDR3 DIMMs up to 2, 133 MHz. An update from Intel's Linux DRM kernel driver last month indicates Comet Lake will retain the Gen9 graphics processor (Generation 9) Skylake in GT1 and GT2 configurations. We will keep you informed.
