Technical characteristics Shuttle NC01U

Shuttle NC01U

Shuttle gives us a basic presentation with a compact but robust box. On the front we find the "XPC Nano" series screen printed and on the left side all the technical characteristics of the Shuttle NC01U. Once we open it we find a very complete bundle:

  • Shuttle NC01U. 65W power adapter. Disc with software and drivers. Support for vertical installation.

It also includes a set of screws and adapter to install VESA monitors. Finally, highlight its external 65W FSP power supply.

The Shuttle NC01U features very compact dimensions that fit in any hand, 141mm x 141mm x 29mm and a very light weight. In the upper area we have engraved the XPC logo. The design is one of its strong points by having a glossy black finish and with a small touch on the bronze buttons.

On the main front we have an all-in-one card reader , two USB 3.0 connections. and the power button.

When we turn to the left we find some grilles for the correct ventilation of the equipment and a COM1 connection, ideal for developers. While the right side there is another ventilation grille.

In the rear area we have a power connection, a Mini-DisplayPort 1.2 connection, two USB 2.0 connections, a RJ45 LAN Gigabit output and an audio output.

Already the back has four rubber feet and a cover that covers the TPM connection.

Inside we find an Intel Celeron 3250U dual-core 64-bit processor and a 14nm manufacturing process. Its base frequency is 1.5 GHz and it has a TDP of 15W.

The board incorporates two DDR3L-1600 1.35v slots, in our case we have installed two Crucial modules at 1600 Mhz of 4GB each, making a total of 8GB.

To go to the second memory slot, SSD and battery we must remove three screws. View of the reverse side of the motherboard:

The installation of the SSD disk has been in the 128GB M2 interface, which forces us to completely disassemble the board for installation. It also allows us to install an SSD disk with SATA interface… I see the use of M.2 disk as ideal. as main and one second to save all data.

For cooling it has a copper sink and a small fan to help the hot air out.

On connectivity, it includes a Bluetooth module and a Wifi 802.11 AC card .

Final words and conclusion

The Shuttle NC01U is a compact, high-performance computer. By incorporating a low-consumption dual-core processor and with a speed of 1.5 GHz, it allows us to have an ideal miniPC for multimedia use and daily use (internet, office automation…).

WE RECOMMEND SHuttle XPC SH310R4, a barebone for Intel processors

In our tests we have installed 8GB of DDR3L Sodimm memory and an M.2 disk. The team has flown… Good job Shuttle !.

If you are looking for a compact, low-power computer, with a good cooling system and that has a striking but elegant aesthetic. The Shuttle NC01U is one of the best options on the market. Currently we can find four different models: Celeron (the one analyzed), an i3, i5 and the powerful i7. Their prices start from 170 euros.
