Silicon motion presents the ultra fast ssd ferrissd sm689 and sm681
Table of contents:
- FerriSSD SM689 and SM681 offer read speeds of up to 1.45 GB / s
- What features do the FerriSSDs SM689 and SM681 have?
Last year Silicon Motion announced its first single-chip 3D NAND SSD. Now they announce that they have the world's first PCIe NVMe single-chip SSDs with enterprise-grade data protection capabilities. These are the SM689 and SM681 models, which join the solutions SM601 (PATA) and SM619 (SATA) of the Silicon Motion FerriSSD family.
FerriSSD SM689 and SM681 offer read speeds of up to 1.45 GB / s
Like the previous units, the SM689 and SM681 are ideal for computing applications in the industrial, commercial, business and automotive markets.
What features do the FerriSSDs SM689 and SM681 have?
- End-to-end protection of the data path, which applies the error correction code (ECC) to the SRAM and DRAM buffers on the SSD, as well as to the primary NAND Flash memory array. DRAM data cache to ensure scheduling data and allow data redundancy, without delaying the operations of the host processor Hybrid Zone that allows partitioning a single disk into single-level cell (SLC) and cell / multi-level zones (MLC / TLC / TLC), enabling faster data access and retention speeds. Smart Scan / DataRefresh protects against further data loss when operating at high temperatures. NANDXtend technology incorporating Silicon Motion 4th generation high performance LDPC ECC engine with RAID. This ensures higher data integrity even in extreme physical environments. 16mm x 20mm (SM689) and 11.5mm x 13mm (SM681) single chip 16mm x 20mm (SM689) package Withstands industrial temperatures from -40 to 85 degrees Centigrade Capacities range from 16GB to 256GB at launch
These drives have sequential read speeds of up to 1.45 GB / s and sequential write speeds of up to 650 MB / s.
Silicon Motion intends to show these units in person at the Embedded World Exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany from February 27 to March 1, 2018.
