Skylake allows bclk overclock again

Anonim

The last generations of Intel processors have had the characteristic of being practically impossible to overclock through the BCLK, the non-K models were limited to raising a few tens of MHz in the best cases. With Skylake this can change as the BCLK has been separated from the rest of the components, allowing overclock again in the models with locked multiplier.

Overclocker " Dhenzjhen " has used a Supermicro C7H170-M motherboard to drive a Core i3-6320 up to 5GHz. Following this feat ASRock has emailed the press claiming that its Z170 Extreme7 + motherboard is capable of supporting clock rates of 4.5 GHz on a Core i5-6600 using an experimental BIOS. ASRock is in the process of internal validation of the new BIOSes to allow overclocking on Intel nonK processors.
