ASRock SKY OC

ASRock was the first motherboard manufacturer to exploit the ability to ocean Intel Skylake processors with the multiplier locked. The new ASRock SKY OC technology arrives to allow users to modify the base clock (BCLK), the most traditional way of overclocking and that practically died with Intel processors since the arrival of Sandy Bridge.

ASRock SKY OC is compatible with all company motherboards with Z170 chipset and with all Skylake processors. To be able to use it you only need to update the BIOS of your motherboard to the necessary version. With ASRock SKY OC technology and an ASRock Z170 Pro 4 motherboard, the frequency of a Core i5 6400 has been raised to 4.3 GHz, the Core i3 6100 to 4.4 GHz, the Core i7 6700 to 4.4 GHz and the Pentium G4400 up to 4, 489 GHz.

MSI has been the first to follow in ASRock's footsteps and has joined the BCLK overclocking party on Skylake processors. In this case, the BCLK of the processors has been raised to 120 MHz, achieving a good increase in the final frequency.
