Steam now officially supports the Nintendo Switch Pro controller
Table of contents:
Valve has announced official Steam support for the Nintendo Switch Pro controller, which you can play with right now, as long as you connect to the latest beta version of Steam.
Switch Pro is already compatible with Steam in its latest Beta version
Sure, there are plenty of features that the nice and extremely comfortable Pro Controller might like, though its lack of analog triggers can be a problem. However, its excellent gyroscope, which should be a delight for precision when aiming at shooters and the like, makes it an alternative to the DualShock or Steam Controller with similar characteristics.
The Switch Pro controller was already possible to use on PC thanks to its Bluetooth connection, but it was difficult to configure and required a third-party application, now it will no longer be necessary thanks to Steam.
If you want to try it out, full instructions on how to set up a Switch Pro Controller through the latest Steam beta can be found in the latest Valve blog post. Currently you can get this command for about 60 euros.
