Zotac has shown an image of its FireStorm application showing the GeForce GTX 1080Ti that will arrive in the coming months and that will be the real leap forward of the Pascal architecture at 16nm FinFET.

GeForce GTX 1080Ti would have been shown by Zotac

After displaying the image Zotac reacted quickly to replace the name of the card that was displayed and change it from the GeForce GTX 1080Ti to the GeForce GTX 1080 while the rest of the parameters were not altered. The arrival of the Geforce GTX 1080Ti is not expected for a few months, probably in early 2017 but who knows if Nvidia has decided to alter its plans and get the new card before AMD can put its Vega architecture on the market.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti will be based on the Pascal GP102 GPU so we would not be facing the most powerful silicon with the new Nvidia architecture either. The Pascal GP100 chip would be reserved for a hypothetical new TITAN series card or could be exclusive to the Tesla professional card series.

AMD has already announced that Vega was ahead of October 2016 to try to stand up to Pascal and the Geforce GTX 1080, perhaps Nvidia seeks to surprise its rival again.
