Threadripper 3990x, gigabyte announces support with its trx40 boards

Gigabyte has announced that its TRX40 series of Threadripper motherboards are now fully compatible with the newly released 64-core, 128-thread Threadripper 3990X processors.

Full compatibility was announced through a manufacturer press release, which details that support for Threadripper 3990X is made through a simple BIOS update for all owners or future buyers of a Gigabyte TRX40 motherboard.

The motherboards that are now compatible with the Threadripper 3990X are: Gigabyte TRX40 AORUS XTREME, TRX40 AORUS MASTER, TRX40 AORUS PRO WIFI and TRX40 DESIGNARE.

The Ryzen Threadripper 3990X is the first high-end 64-core processor for desktop platforms. The new BIOS version will extract the best performance from the new AMD HEDT processors. GIGABYTE TRX40 series motherboards were designed to support the high-performance 64-core processor with its 16 + 3 phase power design and advanced thermal design.

Gigabyte promises to have performed a comprehensive BIOS test and verification prior to the launch of the Ryzen Threadripper 3990X. This BIOS update is now available on the Gigabyte official website.

Remember that Gigabyte makes exclusive use of its Q-Flash + software that allows you to update the BIOS using a USB device, without the need to install the processor and memory. The latest BIOS version is available for download and each motherboard model uses its own.
