Asus trx40 is announced with three models of threadripper boards

ASUS was one of the first to introduce a line of motherboards for the third generation of Ryzen Threadripper processors . In total, the Taiwanese supplier plans to launch three models based on the TRX40 chipset: ROG Zenith II Extreme, ROG Strix TRX40-E Gaming and Prime TRX40-Pro, the specifications of which are already available on the official ASUS website.

The first motherboard announced was the ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme and its main advantages are the 16-phase power system with the sTRX4 socket with three connectors (8 + 8 + 6 Pin). The motherboard features powerful VRM cooling, consisting of a pair of radiators with heat pipes and a pair of ~ 40mm fans (see below). Also notable is a 1.77-inch OLED screen, which displays various information about the system, and the DIMM-branded slot. 2.

Additionally, the motherboard is equipped with a 10 gigabit network interface on the Aquantia AQC-107 controller, Wi-Fi 6 wireless adapter, and allows the installation of five NVMe drives: two via the DIMM.2 expansion card, two more in the M.2 connectors, hidden under the radiator, and one in the M.2 slot on the back of the board.

The ASUS ROG Strix TRX40-E Gaming is one notch lower. This also receives a 16-phase power system with active cooling, but has two 8-pin EPS12V connectors. Included is a 2.5 gigabit network connector, a Wi-Fi 6 wireless module, three M.2 slots, and a small LiveDash OLED display.

Lastly, we have the ASUS Prime TRX40-Pro motherboard that features 2.5 / 10-GB Ethernet connectors, Wi-Fi 6 wireless adapter, or OLED display. Like the previous cards, the sTRX4 socket is powered by a 16-channel circuit. There are two 8-pin EPS12V connectors and a massive heat sink for the VRM circuit. It also has a small fan for active cooling.

The TRX40 series will be available at the end of this November. The prices published by ASUS are the following:
