ThunderX3 TK25 is a PC keyboard with membrane buttons that wants to offer users a good low-cost option for gaming sessions and day-to-day tasks. In addition to its silent membrane technology, a four-color lighting system, a multitude of multimedia controls and a wrist rest are added to reduce fatigue during long sessions in front of the screen. Do not miss our analysis in Spanish.
First of all we thank ThunderX3 for the trust placed in giving us the TK25 keyboard for analysis.
ThunderX3 TK25 technical features
Unboxing and design
The ThunderX3 TK25 comes with a presentation led by a cardboard box in which we find the corporate colors of the brand, on the front we see the logo of the brand along with an image of the keyboard and the layout, in this case we have the distribution of Spanish keys, which we thank the manufacturer for. On the back, its most important features such as the 26-key anti-ghosting, its dedicated multimedia and macro keys, the lighting control and various key combinations for its management are detailed. Inside we find the keyboard protected by a plastic bag.
Finally we see a snapshot of the keyboard in the foreground, this unit presents a kind of stains on its plastic that are accentuated by light so it has been impossible to offer you cleaner photos, we imagine that this is a specific problem with this unit although really live they are much less noticeable than in the photos being almost imperceptible.
The ThunderX3 TK25 is a full format membrane keyboard, this means that it includes the numerical part on the right, making it a recommended unit for all users, even those who need to type the numbers very frequently. The keyboard is built with a black plastic body that reaches dimensions of 230 x 480 x 34 mm and a weight of 1, 405 grams. We see that the WASD and direction keys have a different coloration with a silver tone that makes them easier to identify. At the bottom we have a wrist rest that is part of the body and that will make the use of the keyboard more comfortable, something that is appreciated when you have to spend several hours a day typing.
Despite being an economic keyboard, the manufacturer has included many details that have surprised us, we started with the five keys dedicated to macros that we find on the left side, something that is very rare to see even on keyboards that cost five times more money, above these we find the key that starts recording the macro. Furthermore, macros are extremely easy to record since we only have to press the dedicated button, the corresponding macro button, the key combination and again the record key. It seems that Thunder has wanted to put a lot of emphasis on macros, something that many users will appreciate. On the right side we have a key to change the color of the lighting and turn it off. At the top we see three keys for profiles along with keys for volume control, opening the browser, the user directory and the mail.
The characteristics of the ThunderX3 TK25 continue with a 26-key anti-ghosting system so that we do not have problems when carrying out several actions at the same time in our favorite games, a LED lighting system in three colors and three levels of intensity and the blocking of the Windows key to avoid accidental minimizations that ruin our game.
We go to the back where we find two plastic legs that will serve to slightly lift the keyboard and improve ergonomics when using it, these legs are double so we have two levels of keyboard lift. At the bottom there are two rubber feet to prevent slipping on our desk.
The keyboard has a 1.6 meter long braided cable with a design that combines black and white, at the end we find the gold-plated USB connector to improve contact and avoid wear.
This is how the lighting stays on:
Final words and conclusion about ThunderX3 TK25
ThunderX3 TK25 is a membrane gaming keyboard that surprises with its features and its low price. Its design is quite attractive with an angular aesthetic typical of the gaming world. Logically we are facing a membrane keyboard so we can not expect the same benefits as mechanical ones, despite this, its buttons are quite soft and pleasant for all kinds of tasks, although those who are used to mechanical switches will find it difficult to return to the membranes. The keyboard is nice to use both in games and in office automation and use in general, its dedicated macro keys are something to be thankful for since they are completely programmable and we will be able to take advantage of them.
In short, we are in front of a low-cost keyboard but that does not renounce some very good benefits, with this it becomes one of the best options on the market for users on a tight budget. Its sale price is approximately 25 euros.
