Toshiba XG5-P best performing disk announced
Toshiba XG5-P is a new disk that makes use of the NVMe 1.21 protocol together with the PCI-Express 3.0 x4 interface and 64-layer BiCS memory chips, all these components make it one of the fastest solid state drives on the market thanks to sequential read and write speeds of 3000 MB / s and 2200 MB / s respectively. As for the 4K random performance we have figures of 320, 000 / 265, 000 IOPS in read and write operations respectively so it is also at an excellent level.

Overheating is one of the problems of SSDs in M.2 format, plus those with higher performance, so the Toshiba XG5-P includes a small aluminum heatsink to avoid excessive heating, thus achieving a more stable operation at the same time that it helps to improve its useful life.
We continue to see the characteristics of the Toshiba XG5-P with an advanced automatic encryption system (SED) to improve the security and confidentiality of data in the most sensitive environments such as the professional sector.
This new disk will be available to buy in early 2018 in 1TB and 2TB capacities so it has been designed with the most demanding users in mind who need large doses of storage at the highest speed. Unfortunately no details have been given about its price.
