Toshiba launches 4 and 5 tb hdds
Japan's Toshiba has announced the launch of new HDDs with 4 and 5 TB capacity with a size of 3.5 inches and a rotation speed of 7, 200 RPM.
These are the first HDD hard drives of such capacity to be launched for the consumer market since Toshiba and Seagate itself have for some time had models with similar capacities but aimed at the professional sector and not the general consumer sector.
Toshiba has been able to achieve 4 and 5 TB of capacity in its HDDs thanks to the use of PMR (Perpendicular Magnetic Recording), NCQ (Native Command Queuing) and TMR Head Recording technologies that allow for greater storage capacity with good performance rates. and reliability. They are compatible with Windows 7, 8, 8.1, Mac OS X, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9 and Linux operating systems.
They come at prices of $ 299 for 4TB and $ 399 for 5TB including a 3-year warranty.
