Transcend launches its series of ssd mte220s nvme drives
Table of contents:
With a somewhat difficult to remember name, Transcend is introducing its new M.2 format solid state drive, Transcend MTE220S. This SSD uses the PCI Express Gen3 x4 interface and is compliant with NVM Express (NVMe) specifications.
Transcend MTE220S will come in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB capacities
Thanks to the PCIExpress interface, the transfer speeds on this unit can reach 3, 500 MB / s read and 2, 800 MB / s write. The unit uses 3D NAND memory type and packaging in M.2 2280 format. The MTE220S seems to be geared up for the more enthusiastic gamers and those who operate with high computing power applications.
The Transcend MTE220S comes equipped with DDR3 DRAM cache. This means that commonly used programs load much faster and boot time is greatly reduced. Using SLC caching, the MTE220S SSD can achieve astonishing read / write speeds of 3, 500 MB / s and 2, 800 MB / s, respectively, and 4K random performance is also significantly improved. In addition to speeds, reliability is also enhanced with the low-density parity check code to avoid read and write errors.
Transcend's MTE220S SSDs are compatible with the latest NVMe 1.3 bus specifications, which can achieve transfer speeds of up to 32GB / s, exceeding the SATAIII limit of 6GB / s.
Transcend ships this drive with proprietary SSD Scope software, which can be downloaded free of charge from the manufacturer's website, and which helps measure the health of the SSD.
Transcend's MTE220S will come in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB capacities, and are covered by a five-year limited warranty. At the moment, we do not know the prices of each of them.
