Portability and power are two of the main points that everyone looks for in a speaker that can be moved from one side to the other. But without a doubt, a successful design is always something to be considered. The Tronsmart brand has tried to combine these three elements in its product. In this case we test the Tronsmart Element T6.
Tronsmart Element T6 technical specifications
Unboxing
When opening the box with magnetized flap we find:
• The speaker, packed in a bag.
• A microUSB charging cable.
• An auxiliary cable with a 3.5mm jack plug.
• English manual and warranty.
Design
One of the aspects to highlight with the naked eye is its shape similar to a canteen. Specifically, its measurements are 75mm x 75mm x 195mm and a weight of 546 grams. This design is determined by the characteristic of the speaker to transmit sound in 360 degrees. The internal speakers are hidden and surrounded by a metal mesh. This in turn is lined by another mesh of interwoven threads of fabric. A material that the truth is that it fits very well and gives it an extra grip when holding it.
Only a small side part does not transmit the sound. This is due to the fact that it contains a compartment where the microUSB port and the 3.5mm audio input jack are housed.
At the top, perfectly arranged and in plain sight are the usual buttons to control the device. One to turn the speaker on / off, two to go to the next song or back to the previous one, another to answer calls and finally a central one to pause or play a song.
The solution chosen to change the volume is quite curious and easy to use at the same time. The gray border, surrounding the control buttons, is really a spinning wheel. Depending on the side to which we turn it, the sound will increase or decrease. However, both I and others who have taught it agree on the same thing: the wheel should have a stop to know when we have reached the maximum or minimum volume.
In the space around between the control buttons and the volume wheel, there is an LED strip that changes color. It shows blue if it has enough battery, red if it has less than 10% left, green when it has finished charging and flashing when it is in pairing mode with another device. As with the buttons, its location at the top makes it visible at all times.
Emphasis should also be placed on the lower part where the subwoofer is placed for the bass.
performance
Before opening the box and knowing in advance the 25W of power that the brand announces, I already expected that the speaker would sound powerful and loud. It has not disappointed me. But that, in audio themes, is not everything.
Apart from having a high sound level, it should be noted that the sound is always heard clearly and without distortion. And while the sound plays fairly well, it is perhaps a bit more unbalanced in the lower ranges. In music it is barely noticeable, but in videos or calls it can subtract some naturalness. This can be compensated by manually equalizing it with the player being used. But it is not correct that the user has to find their own solutions.
The bass is very good on this speaker. They offer a good standard for how small it is. Being located at the bottom, it is almost mandatory to leave it vertically to enjoy this section.
Connectivity
The Tronsmart T6 has the possibility of connecting via 3.5mm jack plug to any device that does not have Bluetooth.
For the other terminals, the speaker has Bluetooth 4.1 Class II with up to 10 meters range. To activate the pairing mode, just press and hold the on / off button on the top for 2 or 3 seconds. When the LED light starts flashing, it can be detected and paired.
Battery
The two 2600mAh batteries built into the speaker, and totaling 5200mAh, have provided us with around 13 hours of total operation of use until exhaustion. A high duration and that will allow us to enjoy for a longer time. The duration it has given us falls within the estimate given by the manufacturer. Around 10 and 15 hours of battery life. Therefore, we find a section that stands out even with respect to other devices in its range.
The recharge time has been 3 hours and little. It is not bad either considering the great capacity of its batteries.
Final words and conclusion about the Tronsmart Element T6
Tronsmart has created a fairly round product in almost every way. The battery, bass and power along with the design are positives. It is a pity that it does not manage to transmit an equalized sound at all and therefore it turns too much towards the bass. That would have been the ideal but you also have to take into account its tight price of around € 40. Certainly, that detail is what compensates its quality / price ratio.
