Although Thermalright has always promoted its convex bases, some time ago, the brand launched some Direct Touch models to offer some more affordable alternatives. TRUE Spirit 120 Direct is a new CPU cooler from Thermalright that uses the Direct Touch function.

TRUE Spirit 120 uses Thermalright Direct Touch technology

Physically, the product is based on the old TRUE Spirit 120 Direct, with four Ø6mm heat pipes running through a series of aluminum fins topped by a black cap. It's simple, it's efficient, and the dimensions are exactly the same for the TRUE Spirit 120 Direct Rev.A.

If we have to look for news for this model, we must mention the TY-121BLK fan. This new fan has dimensions of 120mm that rotates at speeds between 600 and 1800 RPM, compared to 1300 RPM for the old model. This means that the fan is gaining flow and that it would be better in terms of thermal performance.

The technical characteristics are not communicated, but it can be easily assumed that the newcomer provides more power, potentially without any increase in noise, since both are rated at 25 dB (A).

Compatibility is assured with all existing AMD and Intel sockets, except for TR4, which is for Threadripper processors. It is really rare to find heatsinks that can support AMD (AM4) and Intel (LGA 1151) sockets and that also support TR4. The package also includes a second set of tweezers to add a fan, and the thermal paste is now in a container. For more information visit the Thermalright page.
