TSMC states that it is taking good steps in the 7nm production process. One of the world's largest chipmakers said it will have a wafer with fifty new chip designs before the end of the year.

AMD, Nvidia, Huawei, Qualcomm and Xilinx will have 7nm chips thanks to TSMC

TSMC is gearing up to mass-produce the first 7nm chips for various tech companies, including AMD, Nvidia, Huawei, Qualcomm and Xilinx. On the AMD side, its first 7nm chips will go to the EPYC series of processors during 2019.

The manufacturer also commented that the 7nm process with EUV technology will be ready for mass production during the year 2020, so it seems that they already have everything on track to make this important leap. More than 100 different chips are slated for manufacturing in 2019, so we will go from chips with a current array of 14-12nm to 7nm. This means chips that consume less power and higher frequencies than what we are seeing right now. Unfortunately, Intel is currently out of the equation now that they are having trouble with their 10nm matrix.

"Our company will continue to benefit from strong demand for our 7 nanometer technology, " said the company's chief financial officer, Lora Ho. TSMC is currently the exclusive provider of Apple's A12 SoC processors for use in new iPhones.
