Intel's Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology is a feature that launched in September 2019 and is included in all Intel HEDT CPUs. With such a feature, Intel CPUs improve the performance of single-threaded applications by moving these single-threaded workloads to the faster core, also known as 'favored' cores.

Intel Turbo Boost Max 3.0 is present in the Intel Core X processor family

This technology works by using a controller and an information store in the CPU to select workloads that meet the necessary specifications to be able to transfer them to the favored cores. Intel itself claims that the new Turbo Boost Max 3.0 algorithm can improve performance by up to 15% for single-threaded applications.

Intel Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology is a combination of software and hardware that offers superior single-thread performance by more than 15%. Now available on select Intel Core X processor family for Intel X299 platforms.

Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system natively supports this feature and is enabled by default, so there is no need to activate the BIOS or install any additional updates on the system. Only Windows 10 x65 - RS5 or later is required to take full advantage of the Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology feature.

The CPUs that take advantage of this technology are the following:
