Ubuntu founder Mark Shuttleworth has announced on his personal blog the new Ubuntu 16.10 name 'Yakkety Yak' and it will be released this year in October.
Ubuntu 16.10 'Yakkety Yak'
There are two theories of the origin of this name, the first by the musical group "Yakety Yak" or the one that has more logic by the name Yak : an Asian mountain animal that lives in the Himalayas and Central Asia. While the second word Yakkety refers to a person or being talkative.
Mark Shuttleworth's ways to report the name on his blog have also had a major impact:
And is for… Yakkety yakkety yakkety yakket yakkety yakkety yakkety yakkety yak. Naturally.
We recommend reading our tutorial how to upgrade Ubuntu 14.04 LTS to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
As we have indicated, its launch will be official during the month of October but before we will have to see the Alpha, Beta and Release Candidate versions in action months ago. Reaching the stability of Ubuntu today, is largely thanks to those users who lend themselves as testers of the operating system in its development. We appreciate the effort they make on a daily basis.
