Raja Koduri, leader of the Radeon Technologies Group, has confirmed the size of the Vega 10 graphics core on Twitter after PC Perspective will update its forecast with an estimated size of 512 mm². Some thought that it would be the largest GPU manufactured by AMD but ultimately it will not be so although it is larger than its rival of Nvidia.

Vega 10 isn't AMD's biggest core

The confirmation comes in an unofficial way, Raja Koduri has subtly confirmed on Twitter that the new AMD Vega 10 graphics core is 484 mm² in size. Vega 10 was said to be the largest core ever made by AMD but this honor will continue to belong to Fiji, the most advanced architecture to have been manufactured with the 28nm process and which reaches a large size of 596mm².
