The integration of RGB lighting into virtually anything having to do with computer components and peripherals seems to be spreading very rapidly. The ViewSonics XG240R monitor with its ELITE RGB lighting is a great example of this fashion.

ViewSonics XG240R is similar to XG2402 but with RGB lighting

The ViewSonics XG240R with its ELITE RGB lighting is part of a partnership with Thermaltake, Razer and Cooler Master. Supposedly, the lighting of this monitor can be synchronized with other peripherals. However, no details have yet been given on how it will work. Even so, RGB LED lighting is helping to sell products, and now ViewSonic is ready to join the party, since for the monitor it has the same specifications as the XG2402, that is; 1080p screen with 144 Hz, WLED backlight and TN technology.

No high refresh rate monitor is complete without some form of adaptive synchronization, with this model in particular FreeSync is used with a range of 48Hz to 144Hz and has a response time of 1ms with Overdrive enabled and a 5 ms response time without it.

The XG240R, like the XG2402, has height, tilt, pivot, and swivel adjustment options. Connectivity is also quite robust, with 2 USB Type A 3.0 ports, 1 USB Type B 3.0 port, 2 HDMI 1.4 ports, 1 DisplayPort port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Overall, the XG240R has a nice feature set, excellent connectivity, and a high update rate, all with a suggested price of $ 272.99. Which means that the inclusion of RGB lighting will only cost you $ 10 more than the XG2402.
