Being able to charge our phone wirelessly is already a godsend, but what if we could charge it 1 meter away from our computer? The Energous company has thought about this with its new WattUP technology.

WattUP wants to revolutionize wireless device charging

Energous has achieved FCC approval to carry out a technology capable of charging wireless charging compatible devices 3 feet away (or almost one meter).

Thanks to WattUP, we can move with our devices without having to place them in a fixed or exact position.

According to an FCC approval, an Energous product will be able to deliver electric charge to your devices ranging from phones, gadgets, tablets and much more (this will be possible if they also come equipped with wireless charging circuits like many of the phones we see at this time).

The future is called WattUP and will not require the device to be placed in a static position. This means that we can continue to use the device freely while it is charging without the need for cables.

Energous will most likely be present at the CES 2018 fair to be held in January, where we hope to see this WattUP technology in action, as there are still some unanswered questions. For example, what will be the power of wireless charging or how many devices could be charged at once. Another possibility is that we also know the price of the device, although this is much more uncertain.
