Whatsapp introduces fingerprint protection

It has been known for months that WhatsApp has been working on introducing fingerprint protection in the application. It has finally arrived in its new beta for Android, after months without knowing when this function would officially arrive. This function is introduced in the privacy section of the application. There you can activate this function, which will allow you to protect your chats from strangers, since only you can access them.

As it happens when we register the fingerprint on our phone, WhatsApp will ask us to register it in the app, in order to establish the owner of the phone and the person who will be able to unlock these chats in the application using the fingerprint. When you have registered, you can configure how long it takes until the blocking is activated in the app, each one chooses the option that seems appropriate to them.

This protection is used to block everything except calls in the app. If they call us, we will not have to use the fingerprint to be able to accept or reject the call. We do not know if this is definitely the case, or is it only in beta.

This new WhatsApp beta can be downloaded now in the Play Store, so that those who are beta testers will be able to test the possibility of protecting the app with their fingerprint. It is expected that in a few weeks it will be released in the stable version of the app.
