WhatsApp is an application that is regularly affected by various threats. Last year it has had a total of 12 reported vulnerabilities, as we have learned. Of these reported, there were a total of 7 that are critical and could have been used by hackers to spy on conversations of millions of users in the application.

WhatsApp had seven critical vulnerabilities last year

This amount represents a notable increase compared to other years. Since on other occasions there are usually a couple of critical vulnerabilities that are detected in the application.

More vulnerabilities than normal

Although many of them were not serious, there have been seven that were considered serious on WhatsApp. So this could mean that there is data that has been compromised. Although the company itself has not said anything about these reports, which also does not help reassure many. Since the extent of these vulnerabilities is unknown.

The application is now in the news for the hack suffered by Jeff Bezos, owner of Amazon, after receiving a video through the application. So this detail does not help improve the image of the messaging application either.

Without a doubt, it is a sign that security in WhatsApp could improve. The app has said nothing so far about these allegations or data on its serious vulnerabilities from last year. But we hope that soon more will be known about it, since it is a major problem, which could affect a large number of users.
