Finding an ITX box that covers all our needs can be a somewhat complicated task. In Win has sent us to the In Win Chopin, it is a box with a flat design, quality construction materials and it becomes ideal to use it as a "low cost" workstation or as multimedia equipment (HTPC).

We appreciate the trust of In Win for the transfer of the product for its analysis:

Technical characteristics In Win Chopin

In Win Chopin Unboxing and Exterior

In Win opts for a simple, minimalist presentation with cardboard protection. On the cover we find in large letters "In Win Chopin" while on the sides all the most important technical characteristics. Once we open the box we find:

  • In Win Chopin box Instruction manual Screws for equipment assembly SATA power thief 3M adhesive stickers Power supply cord

The In Win Chopin is an SFF (Fmall Form Factor) tower that has dimensions of 24.4 x 8.4 x 21.7 cm and an approximate weight of 2.2 kg. Currently we can find it with two base colors: metallic gray or black that can be combined with secondary colors: red, blue, green and orange.

Size comparison with the BB8 mockup

This sleek little case is constructed of premium ECC steel. Where it stands out the most is its spectacular brushed aluminum front. The brand logo is engraved on it and it has two LEDs. As we can see it has no 5.25 ″ bays.

On the right side we find two small grids that are responsible for improving the air flow of this compact box. It also includes a small closure that serves extra security in its assembly.

On the left side it presents a large metal panel (metal mesh) that will help to breathe, it really simulates a window.

To highlight the double USB 3.0 connection, power button, and audio input and output.

Already in the upper area we have a brushed aluminum surface that offers an elegant touch to the entire line of the case and a small perforated mesh panel.

If we look at the lower area we find two legs that support the full weight of the box.

Interior and assembly

Once we remove the left side of the In Win Chopin we see that it is completely painted in black. The box allows us to install Mini-ITX motherboards. There are no expansion slots and this small detail must be taken into account, because it does not allow us to install any graphics card, Wi-Fi card or television tuner.

One of its strongest points is the incorporation of a 150W power supply with 80 Plus Bronze certification. Do I have enough power for my team? Since we cannot install any graphics card, we can mount any Intel processor or APU on the In Win Chopin.

Its power cables include a 24-pin ATX, an 8-pin EPS auxilair and a SATA connector.

Regarding the cooling, it should be noted that it does not incorporate a fan, since it is such a small tower and full of perforated panels, the components breathe is maximum. It allows us to install a heatsink to the CPU with a maximum height of 4.3 cm.

The storage is located on the right side we find the possibility of installing up to two 2.5 ″ hard drives or SSDs.

Temperatures

To test the box we have installed a Z170 itx motherboard with an i5-6600k processor with stock speed. The heatsink used is a Noctua NH-L9x65.

Final words and conclusion

In Win has returned to make a high-performance tower with a very avant-garde design. The In Win Chopin has more than fulfilled everything an ITX tower can be asked for: design, cooling, storage, quality source and a brushed aluminum front.

In our tests we have observed that the temperatures have been fantastic with an i5-6600k with stock speed. Great job!

Currently we can find the In Win Chopin in online store for a price of 118 euros.
