Windows 10 64-bit continues to increase its domain, increasing its usage percentage by 1.5% to 57.03%. Windows XP 32-bit resists dying, having managed to recover 0.1% of the Steam user base. MacOS and Linux obtained results of 2.93% and 0.52% each, representing a loss of 0.12% and 0.29% respectively compared to May 2017.

On the processor side, quad-core systems remain by far the most popular configuration among Steam users, with 59.57% usage, while dual-core and six-core CPUs achieved gains of 0.35% and 0.62% respectively.

This is a small gain in dual-core adoption that is unprecedented in the course of the general decline seen in the past 18 months. June 2018 was the first time that 18-core CPUs have reached a 0.01% usage quota. As for graphics cards, Nvidia continues to be the most popular manufacturer with 74.32%, while AMD loses 0.1%, falling again to 15.1%, a result that is somewhat consistent with those of the previous two months for the company.

VR systems account for just 0.7% of all players on Steam. Currently, it is still largely a two horse race between Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, with a total of 0.33% and 0.32% respectively in their variants, comprising 93.75% of the base of VR users surveyed on Steam.
