Windows 10 has little left to overcome Windows 7

There is no doubt that Windows 10 is being a success, thanks in part to its new policy that allows free upgrade during the first year of life of Microsoft's new operating system.

Such is the success of Windows 10 that in some countries its market share already exceeds that of Windows 7, probably the previous version of the Redmond operating system best valued by users. Globally Windows 10 is the second most used operating system in the world only behind Windows 7, its market shares are approximately 20% and 45%. However in some countries Windows 10 already shows a market share higher than Windows 7 being the absolute king.

There is no doubt that the adoption of Windows 10 is going very fast and is on the way to becoming the most used operating system in the world quite soon, perhaps it will become the new Windows XP in this regard. As we have said before, the free update policy the first year has helped a lot but we must not forget several additional details such as the exclusivity of DirectX 12 and the renewed start menu that presents a much more modern and attractive appearance, at least for the bulk of the users.

Windows in its version 10 also presents other benefits such as a great optimization that makes it work really well on computers with several years behind it, although Microsoft has already revised its minimum requirements upwards.
