Finally, the day of the official launch of Microsoft's new Windows 10 operating system has arrived, a version highly awaited by users for the good promises and advances that have been seen so far in its various preliminary versions.

The start menu returns

Windows 10 brings back the long-awaited start menu that disappeared with Windows 8 causing the discomfort of many users who did not adapt well to the ModernUI interface or simply want to continue using the start menu. With Windows 10, the start menu returns with a new concept that mixes the classic design with the Tiles of the ModernUI interface, something that can be very interesting.

DirectX 12

Surely this is the most awaited novelty by the most playful and they are not without reason. DirectX 11 has become very outdated and Microsoft knows it, that's why they have developed DirectX 12 that promises better performance in video games and new graphic effects thanks to better use of system resources, especially the GPU and CPU that you will now see how the multiple nuclei present are used more efficiently.

We also highlight the Multi-adapter feature that will allow our graphics card to work together with the integrated graphics processor to improve performance in video games, again better use of system resources.

Cortana

The personal assistant created by Microsoft that was released with Windows Phone 8.1 also comes to the new Windows 10 to help the user in their tasks, ask them for the time or ask them to do an internet search for you, you can also invite them to sing a song or to tell you a joke if you want to laugh a little.

Microsoft Edge

Finally, those of Redmond have given up on Internet Explorer, the world's most used browser… to download another browser and have decided to end it. A certain Microsoft Edge, formerly known as Spartan, is born from its ashes, with a much more minimalist and careful design that in its initial versions has been shown as a browser that can stand up to the established options of the market such as Firefox or Chrome.

Free for Windows 7 and Windows 8 / 8.1 users

For the first time a version of Windows will be free, at least for those users who meet certain requirements. If you have a Windows 7 or Windows 8 / 8.1 license, you can upgrade to Windows 10 without spending a single euro. Great! Of course, remember that you must do the update during the first year to make it free. once updated you will have Windows 10 free forever.

For the rest of users, the Home version will be sold at an approximate price of 135 euros, both in DVD and USB format.

You can now download Windows 10 in its 32 and 64 bit editions to try it out.
