Chinese media outlet XFastest has discovered an improved version of AMD's existing Wraith Prism CPU cooler.

Wraith Prism model with six heat pipes revealed

AMD exclusively includes the Wraith Prism cooler with its Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9, including the Ryzen 9 3900X, Ryzen 7 3800X, Ryzen 7 3700X, and Ryzen 7 2700X. The refrigerator has four copper heat pipes that transfer heat away from the processor. However, it can be seen that AMD is now adding a cooler with six heat pipes, which should further improve heat transfer.

AMD does not officially list the TDP (Thermal Design Power) that the Wraith Prism supports. However, the Ryzen 9 3900X is rated at a TDP of 105W, so we can safely assume that the Wraith Prism can handle processors up to 105W. With this update, the cooler could even rival some of the cheap CPU coolers on the third-party market.

The improved Wraith Prism looks practically like a replica of the original if it weren't for the additional heat pipes. As noted by XFastest, the refrigerator apparently retains the same measurements, mounting mechanism, RGB lighting, and socket holder.

Also, this review is said to have the same part number (712-000075 Rev: C) as the original, making it difficult to tell the two coolers apart unless you take it out of its box and look underneath. However, it is possible that it is a packaging error, so we cannot rule out that the new version arrives with its own part number, which would be the most logical.

At this point, it is not known whether AMD will quietly start introducing this new upgraded refrigerator or whether it would attempt to sell it separately. We will keep you informed.
