Xiaomi and Lenovo work on their first phone with 5g

The 5G career has already begun. There are brands that are involved in its development, while others begin to prepare their first phones compatible with this technology. Two of the firms that belong to the latter group are Xiaomi and Lenovo. The two companies would be working on their first model with 5G.

In addition, the two companies would be betting on using a Snapdragon processor in said models. Remember that Qualcomm is one of the biggest drivers of 5G.

Qualcomm is already working on its new generation of processors, which are expected to be compatible with 5G. Therefore, brands such as Xiaomi and Lenovo do not want to waste time and thus be among the first to have a device compatible with this technology on the market. Although at the moment nothing is known about the possible launch of these phones from Chinese manufacturers.

The expectation is that Qualcomm will unveil its new high-end processor later this year, and begin rolling out to phones in 2019. This processor (Snapdragon 855) is supposed to be 5G-compatible. But it could not be confirmed at the moment.

Therefore, it is possible that Xiaomi and Lenovo are thinking of using another processor from the manufacturer. We hope that more will be known about these plans, as many specific details are currently missing. But, it is clear that the 5G race and having compatible phones as soon as possible has already begun.
