Zen 3: amd will present microarchitecture at ces 2020

Through the leak of a Taiwanese newspaper, CES 2020 is reported to be the stage for AMD to unveil its new Zen 3- based processor architecture. The Zen 3 presentation means AMD will talk about this core and present three key products; Fourth-generation Ryzen for desktop and laptop customers, the company's third-generation EPMC business processor family based on the MCM “Milan” succeeding “Rome, ” and finally the fourth-tier Ryzen Threadripper processor family generation, codenamed "Genesis Peak".

The bulk of the customer segment will be addressed by two different developments, " Vermeer " and " Renoir ". The "Vermeer" processor is a desktop MCM that succeeds " Matisse " and will implement " Zen 3 " chips. Renoir, on the other hand, is expected to be a monolithic APU that combines “Zen 2” CPU cores with an iGPU based on the “Vega” graphics architecture, with updated graphics and “Navi” multimedia engines.

The common thread between "Milan", "Genesis Peak" and "Vermeer" is the "Zen 3" chiplet, which AMD will build in the new 7nm EUV silicon manufacturing process to be manufactured by TSMC.
