Acer expands its 2-in switch line

Acer has expanded its popular range of Switch 2-in-1 laptops with two new models ‒Switch 5 and Switch 3‒ with Windows 10, with versatile and highly portable designs for work, school and leisure.

The two new Acer Switch 2-in-1 laptops can be used with the Acer Active Pen stylus on its touch screen to draw, take notes or annotate documents or photos thanks to Windows Ink.

Acer Switch 5 has enhanced the innovations of its predecessor - which were pioneers in the market - Switch Alpha 12, with its fanless design and a silent experience thanks to the Acer LiquidLoop ™ cooling system, as well as excellent performance with the Intel processor ® Core ™ i7 seventh generation. Acer's patented auto retract bracket allows easy viewing angle adjustment with one hand. Its fingerprint reader is compatible with Windows Hello, which provides fast and secure access.

Acer Switch 3 features a well-balanced 2-in-1 build; with a 12.2-inch screen, Intel processors and a quiet fanless design.

Switch 5 is Acer's first 2-in-1 incorporating seventh-generation Intel® Core® i7 and i5 processors to deliver higher performance than required for demanding tasks, presentations and entertainment on the go. Its integrated fingerprint reader on the power button identifies users and provides quick access to their projects. Users can be assured that their information will remain secure and private when they use the fingerprint reader to log in thanks to Windows Hello.

With Acer's patented stand, the Switch 5's viewing angle can be easily adjusted with one hand, offering greater comfort in any situation. For professional users, Acer Switch 5 can be purchased with the Acer Type-C USB connection, which transforms the device into a powerful workstation. This compact base enables high-speed video, audio and data transfer and keeps the work area clear, with immediate connectivity to an additional screen and other devices. It also includes all the ports and connections that a professional needs: DisplayPort, HDMI, two USB 3.1 type C ports and three USB type A ports, as well as microphone audio inputs and speaker audio output.

Slim and light designs; ready to connect

Switch 5 and Switch 3 are available with ample memory and storage options. Switch 5 supports a 256GB or 512GB PCIe SSD and up to 8GB of LPDDR ⁴ SDRAM. Switch 3 supports 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB eMMC memory and up to 4GB of LPDDR3 SDRAM ⁴. Both models can access additional files through the MicroSDXC slot. The devices have a reversible USB 3.1 Type-C port for fast data transfers of up to 5 Gbps from connected peripherals, for video sharing and also to power other devices. Both ranges also have an additional USB 3.1 Type A port and Bluetooth 4.0.

Acer Switch 5 is thin and light, measuring just 292 x 201.8 x 12 mm and weighing a total of 1.27 kg. The Switch 5 tablet mode is only 9.6mm tall, and weighs 0.92kg. Acer Switch 3 measures 295 x 201 x 16.3 mm and weighs 0.9 kg in total. The Switch 3 tablet mode is only 9.95mm tall, and weighs 0.9kg.
