According to the recent listing by SanDisk Japan, the flash memory maker has expanded its Extreme Pro family, high-performance M.2 NVMe SSDs, with a new 2TB variant.

2TB SanDisk Extreme Pro SSDs Arrive

The 2TB Extreme Pro is an M.2 2280 SSD that complies with the NVMe 1.3 protocol and communicates with your system through a standard PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 port. Like its younger siblings, the unit uses a SanDisk eight-core, three-core SSD controller and a 64- layer 3D NAND TLC memory type.

SanDisk Japan did not list the DRAM capacity of the SSD. The Extreme Pro 2TB is equipped with SanDisk's latest nCache 3.0 feature, which is a caching technology that reportedly increases sequential and random performance.

The 2TB drive offers sequential read and write speeds of up to 3, 400MB / s and 2, 900MB / s, respectively. The unit also offers 480, 000 IOPS random reads and 550, 000 IOPS random writes. The 2TB model also has the best resistance of the three models. It has a 1, 200 TBW (written terabyte) capacity and is backed by a five-year limited warranty.

As usual, the Extreme Pro 2TB comes with SanDisk's SSD Dashboard software, which consists of lots of useful tools to monitor the health, performance, and other parameters of the drive.

SanDisk has yet to list the 2TB Extreme Pro on its global website, so the SSD is not yet widely available around the world. There is also no official word on price. However, the 1TB model currently sells for $ 449, so we expect the 2TB model to cost more than $ 600.
