ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro is the new NVMe SSD that arrives with the intention of becoming a fact on the market with a recipe that never fails: offering great features, an attractive design and a tight selling price.

Will it be under the circumstances of the expectations created? Will it pass all of our test bench tests? Discover in our analysis in Spanish if the manufacturer has managed to meet its objective.

First of all, we thank ADATA for the trust placed in ceding the product to us for analysis.

ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro technical characteristics

Unboxing and design

The packaging of the ADATA XPG SX6000 is simple and direct, since it comes inside a small cardboard box, with a fairly colorful design that makes it clear that it is a product focused on gaming.

Inside is the ADATA SX6000 M.2 SSD SSD and an aluminum heat sink with 3M adhesive on one side to improve thermal performance.

The inclusion of a heat sink is highly appreciated, as few manufacturers offer it. The high-end motherboards already have heatsinks in their M.2 slots, but this is not the case in the mid and low range. NVMe SSDs get quite hot, so including a heat sink will help us keep them running much more stable, especially in more intensive tasks.

We take the ADATA XPG SX6000 out of the box and we can already see it in all its glory. It is an NVMe SSD made with a high quality PCB, something that will help achieve maximum durability. The design is attractive with a black PCB. All components are placed on one side of the PCB, making it very compact and ideal for use on notebooks.

ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro is an SSD that features Realtek RTS5760 controller, this is one of the first SSDs released with the mentioned controller making it a bold move from the manufacturer to set itself apart from the competition . This new model comes after the launch of the SX8000 and SX7000, thereby the manufacturer intends to complement its line of XPG SSDs for the entry level market.

ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro has a specification sheet that includes the use of 3D TLC memory, a PCIe Gen3 x4 interface, SLC-type caching, and a DRAM buffer. They are not leading features, but the intention is to offer a product with the best value for money, not the fastest SSD on the market. The use of TLC memory reduces the cost compared to the use of MLC memory, despite this, it will still be much faster than an SSD based on the SATA III interface, which was created for hard drives and not SSDs. The 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB models have a read speed of 2100MB / s and a write speed of 1500MB / s.

SSD demand has depended predominantly on its price / capacity ratio, and most users have accepted that SSDs will greatly increase storage performance compared to traditional mechanical hard drives.

The NVMe protocol has paved the way by allowing SSD drives to reach their full potential, without interfaces being the limiting factor. For most applications, 600 Gbps may be enough, but as larger game files and larger multimedia applications become common, more demanding users need faster storage to keep up-to-date. That's where NVMe comes into play, and consumers who are smart enough to understand the benefits of such drives have not hesitated to adopt them.

ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro includes HMB (Host Memory Buffer) technology which is an SLC cached host memory buffer, allowing the device to deliver great random performance of up to 250K / 240K IOPS. Thanks to this SSD and its excellent features, your heaviest games will load in a few seconds so you don't have to wait.

ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro also supports Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) error correction code technology, it is responsible for detecting and correcting a wide range of errors in data transfers, resulting in more reliable operation and longer life. All components of the have passed rigorous controls and tests, which makes the ADATA SX6000 Pro supplied with a 5-year warranty.

One of the most anticipated moments arrives to check the performance of the Kingston SSDNow A1000 480GB, which is what everyone is interested in, right? We've used a state-of-the-art test bench with an i7-8700K processor, liquid cooling for the processor, and an Asus Z370 Maximus X Hero motherboard.

The software we have used is:

software

As expected ADATA presents us with its SSD a management software. SSD Toolbox is a toolbox that allows us to check the hard drive, diagnose its health, update the firmware, update the application itself and export a log.

We can also optimize the system at the click of a button in basic or advanced. And finally, it offers us the system information: application version, operating system, CPU, RAM, motherboard and its bios. Nothing bad!

Final words and conclusion about ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro

ADATA has released the ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro, a high-performance NVME SSD that is super interesting for high-end computers. It has 3D TLC memories, a Realtek controller and a sticker with a small dissipation foil that helps lower the temperature.

In our opinion it seems to us a good SSD, but it could be perfect with MLC memory instead of TLC. But for this reason it is cheaper than other superior models. That is, it is designed for street people who do not want to leave a kidney on the road.

We recommend reading the best SSDs on the market

In our performance tests we have reached 2100 MB / s read and 1500 MB / s write. Undoubtedly, very good results in our most demanding tests.

We believe that the ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro is a highly recommended option. At the moment we do not know the recommended price in Spain and its availability. But we should not take long to see it, because when the river sounds… water carries. What do you think of this SSD?
