In this way the user obtains a virtual card at the time of registration, it is only necessary to provide the basic name, sex and date of birth, anyone who carries the equivalent of $ 27 or more will receive a physical card.

This card is not limited to Amazon, but can be used in other online stores, or to take advantage of external Internet services such as Netflix, Spotify and Uber. Additionally, physical card owners can shop at retail stores and withdraw money at ATMs.

This is intended to make buying on Amazon something much more accessible to all users, including those who are suspicious of using their bank details to make purchases online. A report from the Mexican government points out that less than a third of Mexican adults have credit cards, which greatly limits their ability to buy on websites.
