AMD has announced the arrival of a second generation Ryzen Pro processors for the AM4 socket and intended for commercial desktops in a corporate environment, with additional administration and security features.

New Ryzen Pro and Athlon Pro 200GE chips

These new chips are based on the company's new 12nm "Pinnacle Ridge" silicon. Its biggest differentiator from the other Ryzen SKUs is the GuardMI feature, which is a collective of Secure Memory Encryption, a Enhanced Secure Boot feature, and Secure Production Environment, useful for large organizations overseeing the manufacturing of their hardware and fTPM.

AMD's second-generation Ryzen Pro lineup initially includes three models: the 8-core / 16-wire Ryzen 7 Pro 2700X, the Ryzen 7 Pro 2700, and the 6-wire / 12-wire Ryzen 5 Pro 2600. The Pro 2700X hits 3.60 GHz, at 4.10 GHz, while the Pro 2700 and Pro 2600 are clocked in frequency on par with their non-professional counterparts. The decision to slow down the Pro 2700X might have something to do with the TDP, which is now 95W, compared to 105W for the normal 2700X.

AMD has also announced the new Athlon Pro 200GE for the AM4 platform, it is a processor of the family "Raven Ridge" at 14 nm quite cut in features. This processor includes integrated graphics, although only 3 of the 11 NGCUs will be enabled, which translates to 192 shaders, which should be enough for desktop, 2D and video acceleration and even for undemanding modern games.

Its CPU configuration is 2 cores and 4 threads, with 512 KB L2 cache per core and 4 MB shared L3 cache. The CPU has a clock rate of 3.20 GHz, with no Precision Boost functions. Its PCIe root complex only supports PCI-Express 3.0 x4. AMD claims that the Athlon 200GE will be up to 19 percent faster than Intel Pentium G4560 in productivity work. It will be available starting September 18 for a price of $ 55.
