At the moment, we only have motherboards with the AMD X570 chipset for Ryzen processors on the market, but the mid-range and high-end variants, which are the B550 and A520, are still missing. A report from ChinaTimes tells us that these two chipsets will start their mass production in the first quarter of this year.
Motherboards with B550 and A520 chipsets will go into production very soon
The two chipsets that would be produced include the mid-range B550 chipset and the entry-level A520 chipset. The AMD Ryzen platform currently features AM4 motherboards based on the X570 chipset, which are priced much higher due to their high-end / enthusiastic positioning.
We've seen a significant increase in the price of X570 motherboards compared to the X470 and X370 and while motherboard manufacturers are aggressively targeting the under $ 200 market with their new X570 designs, there is still a huge market for below the $ 150 that needs to be covered by the new batch motherboards that debuted with Ryzen 3000.
According to sources, ASMedia would be serving orders for the Supermicro B550 and A520 chipset and would go into mass production in the first quarter of 2020. Retail products based on these chipsets are expected to be available on shelves in the first. mid 2020, so we can see them in action at this year's Computex. It will not be the first time that we see budget options at Computex, since, in 2018, several members of the AMD board of directors unveiled their B450 lines.

The B550 chipset is expected to use a PCIe 3.0 interface instead of the novel 4.0, so there will be a major limitation here in case we think of using SSD drives that take advantage of this new interface.
Orders for AMD's 600 series chipsets, including the flagship X670 chipset, are also expected to go into mass production in the second half of 2020.
