AMD is scheduled to hold a financial analyst conference at its California headquarters on March 6, where AMD CEO Lisa Su is rumored to announce the "Big Navi" graphics card.

Big Navi would have a calculation power of 18 TFLOPS

Big Navi is said to be the flagship GPU of AMD Radeon and will have three new graphics products based on it, with a floating point performance (FP32) of up to 18 TFLOPS, which is 80% higher than that of a RX 5700 XT or RTX 2080, and 30% higher than the Radeon VII or RTX 2080 Ti.

If the above revelations are believed, Big Navi would bring an RX 5950 XT to life, while the other two may be the RX 5900 XT and RX 5800 XT.

The hypothetical RX 5950 XT has 80 CU units (double that of the RX 5700 XT), and would have a gross power of 18 teraflops. However, this also brings up some questions, such as whether it will be a 'dual' GPU, and how it will coexist with high power consumption. Recall that the 5700 XT already has a TDP of 225 to 235W, while the 7nm Radeon VII has a power consumption of 300W.

Although the 18 teraflops may sound very good, Nvidia would be preparing its new Ampere "Fat Man" and "Little Boy" GPUs, which would have 7552 and 6912 CUDA, with a calculation power (FP32) of 33.5 and 27.9 teraflops, respectively. We will see what these rumors remain, less and less to find out the official details about Big Navi and if it will be able to fight worthily against the high-end of Nvidia. We will keep you informed.
