Amd confirms that ryzen works correctly on windows 10
Table of contents:
Previously we had talked about the supposed problems that Ryzen processors had with the Windows 10 task scheduler, which prevented it from making the most of its possibilities in this system. Well, it seems that this is not so.
Ryzen has no Windows 10 compatibility issues
Many users echoed Ryzen processors ' alleged compatibility problems with Windows 10 and their inability to handle all physical and logical cores well, causing them to lose gaming performance.
The expected patch that would fix the problem of Ryzen processors in Windows 10 both on the Microsoft side and on the AMD side will not come, because there is no such problem.
AMD rules out problems with Task Scheduler
AMD has been investigating this issue for the past few days and can confirm that the kernels and threads are working properly in Windows 10, so there will be no need for any patches or updates.
A few days ago it was said that the problem arose with the Windows Task Scheduler, which identified the processor with 16 logical cores, when in reality they are 8 physical cores plus 8 logical cores. Logical cores have less capacity and resources than physical cores in Task Scheduler, so there was the blessed drawback that AMD has denied in the end.
What AMD is recommending at the moment is that users change the power plan in Windows 10 to '' High Performance '' instead of Balanced, which may interfere with Ryzen's native management.
We recommend reading our review Ryzen 7 1700.
It is possible in this case if there is an update from Microsoft that improves resource management when placed in Power Plan in Balanced, but we are not aware of that at the moment. We will keep you informed.
