Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, has confirmed that the expected Ryzen processors will hit the market in early March, and availability will be immediate so that we will not have to wait to buy them.

AMD Ryzen will arrive in a month

AMD Ryzen will reach retailers alongside system integrators first, more traditional hardware vendors will have to wait a little longer so Dell and HP pre-assembled computers will have to wait a bit to market their own equipment based on the new processors. Ryzen will duel with the most powerful Intel processors so, finally, we are going to see real competition in this sector. As for the Naples-based, server-based and Zen-based processors, they will arrive during the second quarter. Also in the second quarter will be the new AMD Vega GPUs.

Lisa Su has also referenced upcoming reviews of the Zen microarchitecture, which she has referred to as Zen 2 and Zen 3, and has also confirmed that AMD is considering the manufacturing process at 7nm. It seems quite clear that the Sunnyvale people want to stomp and regain the land ceded to Intel in recent years.

The new AMD Zen microarchitecture will give life to Ryzen processors and will have an approximate life of four years in which we will see several revisions to improve their efficiency and benefits. Zen's biggest features are a return to full-core design and a 14nm FinFET manufacturing process to greatly improve performance and efficiency over previous AMD FX Bulldozer architecture.
