Amd gray hawk at 7nm with zen plus and navi graphics for 2019
Table of contents:
AMD wants to go all out in the market for x86 PC processors and knows that the best way to do this is to strengthen the main weak point of its great rival Intel, the integrated graphics processor. AMD is preparing a new series of Gray Hawk APUs manufactured at 7nm and equipped with advanced Zen Plus cores and powerful integrated Navi graphics.
AMD Gray Hawk: Features of New APUs for 2019
The new AMD Gray Hawk APUs will arrive in 2019 with Global Foundries' new 7nm manufacturing process for a major leap forward in performance and energy efficiency. These new chips will be based on AMD Zen Plus cores, which promise to continue increasing the IPC above the Zen microarchitecture that will arrive in 2016 on Summit Ridge processors and Raven Ridge APUs.
These new AMS Gray Hawk processors will have a total of four Zen Plus cores to be able to process up to 8 threads of data, the graphics will be in charge of the Navi architecture that will come to succeed Polaris and Vega, all with a power consumption of 10W, so it is chips with impressive energy efficiency. With this we could see a new generation of Ultrabooks with power levels much higher than the current ones and very efficient equipment with the use of energy.
We recommend our guide to the best processors on the market.
AMD Gray Hawk will use DDR4 and HBM2 memory to offer great performance in its integrated graphics, the motherboards will use the AM4 + socket, although seeing the history of AMD it is very likely that they can work in AM4 although without offering all its benefits. Gray Hawk will arrive to succeed the Raven Ridge APUs, which will be the first to use the Zen cores and will also have the Navi graphics to make a good jump in benefits.
