The new AMD Catalyst 14.12 Omega driver introduces new improvements to the image quality of played videos and games as well as performance improvements and bug fixes in various video games. Among the new technologies added is the so-called "Virtual Super Resolution" which is the same as Nvidia's "Dynamic Super Resolution" and which improves the graphic quality of games by rendering at a resolution higher than that of the monitor. It also introduces improvements to frame-pacing technology in video games to make them more fluid.

In addition to the improvements for video games, other improvements are added to improve the experience in the playback of multimedia content, we find "Fluid Motion Video" that adds smoothness to Blu-ray playback using PowerDVD 14, "Video Control Removal" which reduces artifacts in compressed video playback and improves 1080p content playback and rescaling to 4K.

Finally, performance has been improved by up to 19% in several video games, among which are: Arkham Origins, Bioshock Infinite, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grid 2, Sniper Elite III, and Rome: Total War among others.
