Amd could launch 7nm apu raven ridge processors in December

AMD has everything in place to make the big leap towards 7nm. The Sunnyvale company is prioritizing silicon manufacturing at 7 nanometers for two chips: "ROME" and "VEGA 20". ROME, as you will remember, is the first CPU based on the company's “Zen 2” architecture, which will be part of the new generation EPYC for servers and workstations. "VEGA 20", on the other hand, could be the world's first 7nm GPU. The other important news would be the update of Raven Ridge as a new node for this year.
Raven Ridge processors would make the leap to 7nm very soon
As far as we know, "VEGA 20" is not a mere reduction of the "VEGA 10" GPU to the 7nm node. For starters, it will use four HBM2 memory stacks, confirming that it will have a larger memory interface and support for up to 32GB of memory. AMD confirmed that "VEGA 20" was part of the professional graphics cards Radeon Instinct and Radeon Pro, and that it has no plans to use it for the 'gaming' segment. AMD is preparing the “Navi” GPU for this purpose and we should see it in 2019.
According to Expreview , AMD may unveil 7nm Ryzen Raven Ridge APUs later this year. The story is allegedly based on the Citigroup analyst report, which describes TSMC's production capacity for different nodes. He claims that AMD will launch APU chips later this year using the new node.
This contradicts claims from AMD itself, which clarified that 7nm Vega and 7nm EPYC processors will take priority for production, and that 7nm consumer products were not expected this year. We will see what this information is, the truth is that AMD feels in a much more advantageous position than Intel, which even has problems in the manufacture of its 10nm chips.
