Amd ryzen 3 3250u, first performance results in geekbench

An unreleased AMD APU processor has been spotted on Geekbench . The chip in question is the AMD Ryzen 3 3250U, with the U indicating that it is for portable devices.

AMD Ryzen 3 3250U belongs to the Picasso family

The Ryzen 3 3200U has already been released by AMD as part of the manufacturer's Picasso family. The 12nm APU comes with Zen + CPU cores and Vega 3 graphics. Judging from the specs featured in Geekbench, the 3250U is very similar to the 3200U.

The Ryzen 3 3250U uses the same dual-core four-wire configuration and operates at a base clock speed of 2.6 GHz. The chip appears to have a lower 30 MHz boost clock, but that could be a detection error by part of Geekbench. Additionally, the AMD Family 23 Model 24 Stepping 1 ID confirms the use of the Picasso architecture.

Let's not forget that AMD also produces custom solutions for some of its partners. The Ryzen 3 3250U can either be a new SKU or a custom-made APU for a reputable PC vendor.

As for the cache, the Ryzen 3 3250U is equipped with 192KB of L1 cache, 1MB of L2 cache and 4MB of L3 cache. There are no surprises there. The APU once again features Radeon Vega 3 graphics, which means it has three compute units (CUs) with a clock of up to 1, 200 MHz.

Geekbench 4 may not be the best tool for comparing two processors, but a list comparing two PCs shows that the Ryzen 3 3250U is 3% and 1.3% faster than the Ryzen 3 3200U in single and several nuclei, respectively. However, both systems worked with different memories and different versions of Geekbench 4, so the actual difference could be minor or even non-existent. We will keep you informed.
