The AMD Ryzen 7 2700E has been discovered in the 3DMARK database by a user known as TUM APISAK, who has already discovered similar cases in the past. This new AMD Ryzen 7 2700E has been previously included in the latest ASRock AM4 BIOS updates, although the processor has never been seen in any test so far.

AMD has not released any E-series AM4 processors to the consumer market, so it is quite likely that the new processor will be available only to OEMs. This low-TDP variant allows manufacturers to install 8-core processors, on systems that would not otherwise be able to handle their power requirements or heat output, which can be very important for small-format PCs.

The 3DMARK database lists this processor with a base clock speed of 2.8 GHz, which matches ASRock's listings on its latest AM4 BIOS support page. As for turbo speed, it has also been listed at 2.8 GHz, which may be a mistake or a real fact to keep your power consumption very low. This demonstrates the incredible energy efficiency of Zen architecture when operating at low clock speeds.
